I lost my myspace years ago, long after they were no longer popular but just found a backup page this morning and liked all the quotes and images I put together at that time so thought I would resurrect and modify it. The original myspace page represented an interesting transition in my life.
“Fundamentally no wisdom-tree exists, Nor the stand of a mirror bright. Since all is empty from the beginning, Where can the dust alight” H.H. The Sixth Patriarch Hui Neng

As a London based photographer, I have experienced multiple states of being and feel the time has come to write up my myriad experiences. My photographic range encompases album covers, news and entertainment, landscapes, travel, glamour, fashion, erotica, fetish, portraiture and still life photography. High rents and the freedom of the street and the ease of dealing with more commercial mediums such as newspapers, magazines, T.V, internet and mobile phone downloads led me to cross over to agency work in 1999.
“To see a World in a grain of sand,
And a Heaven in a wild flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand,
And Eternity in an hour.”
Indepth philosophical discourse with Kate Moss relating to the questions of what are modern ethics, what sorts of things ultimately exist, what are the metaphysics of life, what is genuine epistemology, and what are the correct principles of logic.
I first developed a serious interest in photography in 1985, starting with a Minolta 700. Don McCullin, Cartier Bresson and Wegee were my primary inspirations, hence moving on to Nikon, after seeing the one that saved Don McCullin’s life.
Nepal(1988) “Langtang shepherd”
After taking pictures in India for 6 months in 1988 and inspired by the Goan beaches, deserts of Rajastan and “holy” men of Nepal I expanded my mind at Oxford Brookes University, graduating in life experience.
I then worked as a film production/post production runner and motivated by Peter Lindbergh and Tony Heagren I moved into fashion photography.
The temples of India soon came back to inspire me and with the desire to mimic and step beyond Cartier Bresson’s inspiration after a 7 year search I finally found a teacher in Master Simon Wong at Yellowdragon. Rather than just reading Bresson’s original influence “Zen and the art of archery,” which still inspires my determination to capture my own decisive moments, I sought through photography my own path to enlightenment. Secure in the knowledge, that the YD philosophy places great emphasis on realising that everything around us is just an illusion.
As humans, we are controlled by our desires through our perception of sights, sounds, smells, tastes, touches and thoughts as “reality”. As part of real kung fu training we are aiming to achieve freedom from our desires and raise our conciousness of life to a greater level. By developing this understanding, we will have a much clearer mind, our kung fu will improve and we will gain the wisdom to be able to sort out all the problems in our lives.
Boujis(2006) “Harry’s night”
Therefore as part of our kung fu training it is important to read and think carefully about the heart sutra every day. By doing this we can begin to better understand the nature of life.
“He who has nothing to die for has nothing to live for”
The Prajnaparamita Heart Sutra
The Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara, while moving in the deep course of Prajnaparamita, shed light on the five skandhas and found them equally empty. After this penetration, he overcame all pain.
Listen, Shariputra, form is emptiness, emptiness is form; form does not differ from emptiness, emptiness does not differ from form. The same is true with feeling, perception, intention and consciousness.
Hear, Shariputra, all dharmas are marked with emptiness; they are neither produced nor destroyed, neither defiled nor immaculate, neither increasing nor decreasing. Therefore, in emptiness there is no form, feeling, intention, or consciousness; no eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, or mind; no forms, sounds, smell, tastes, touches, or mental objects; nor is there the realm of the eyes, up to and including the realm of mind consciousness. There is no ignorance or ending of ignorance; up to and including no decay and death or ending of decay and death. There is no suffering, no origination of suffering, no extinction of suffering, and no path; no knowledge and also no attainment.
Because there is no attainment, the bodhisattvas, supported by the Prajnaparamita, find no obstacles for their minds. Having no obstacles, they overcome fear, liberating themselves forever from illusion and realising perfect Nirvana. All Buddhas in the past, present, and future, through reliance upon Prajnaparamita, arrive at full, right, and universal Enlightenment.
Therefore, one should know that Prajnaparamita is a great spiritual mantra, a great wisdom mantra, a supreme mantra, an unequalled mantra. It destroys all suffering because it is the incorruptible truth. A mantra of Prajnaparamita should therefore be proclaimed. This is the mantra:
GATE GATE PARAGATE PARASAMGATE BODHISVAHA
Studio71(1996-2000) “Studio71 R.I.P”
With a studio I built up my portfolio but as my gut instincts told me it wasn’t to be and I started covering events/entertainment news for Big Pictures, All Action, Eurofoto, Wenn and Xposure before joining YD Image.
Pictures taken include the early chronicling of Prince Harry’s rise to notoriety as the drinking, raving, womanising and street fighting Prince. Sienna Miller and Orlando Bloom’s intimate moment at a polo match, Mickey Rourke stealing another man’s girlfriend, footballer Kierion Dyer’s rape alibi, the comedy terrorist’s security breach at Prince William’s 21st at Windsor Castle, Timberlake’s errant lady, the king of spin Alaistair Campbell’s date with Saddam and Lindsay Lohan’s internet viral meme exposure. Recent pictures are bringing me into the legal and political arena, which is important if I/we wish to understand how our reality is formalised.
I have travelled to Cannes, South Africa, Marbella and Ibiza for various news organisations and PR companies.
The entertainment market has been an unorthodox training ground, but has certainly been a intriguing world of street journalism, from which my elements of dry humour arise.
My work has been featured in UK newspapers such as The Sun, Star, Daily and Sunday Sport, Daily and Sunday Mirror, Daily Mail, Mail on Sunday, Daily Record, News of the World, Sunday People, Daily and Sunday Express, Guardian, Telegraph, Evening Standard, Times and Sunday Times, in magazines including Front, Loaded, Zoo, Heat, Star, Now, New, Closer, OK, Hello, Inside Soap, M Celebs, Bliss, Sneak, People (US), Star (US) & National Enquirer (US), as well as being syndicated in many other territories around the world.
And I have appeared on many TV and radio stations including Sky TV, BBC, BBC News 24, BBC Radio 5, BBC Radio 2’s Jeremy Vine Show, BBC Radio Belfast, ITN, ITV’s GMTV, Channel 4’s Richard & Judy show, Channel 5 (all UK), CNN, CBS, NBC, ABC (USA), TV Asahi & Fuji (Japan), APTV, Channel 9 (Australia), RTL (Germany).
Now getting the perfect synergy between the most commercially viable pictures with creative merit and having recently cultivated with Alien sociopaths I am photo feature editor for Don’t Magazine, looking at the whole media game from a political, social, philosophical, legal and entertainment perspective. I always enjoy working with different people and commercially viable projects, especially things that we can get aired and published and as a myspace/youtube acolyte I’m keen to interweave all our myriad philosophical and creative talents into a seamless multimedia paradise.
“Tell me something, my friend. You ever dance with the devil by the pale moonlight?” The Joker Batman (1989)
Although I am wiser and less idealistic re: media, after a psychopathic paparazzi (if you ever met this individual you would understand why the public ultimately quite rightly had sympathy for this profession) ripped off the even bigger psychopath Tania Levin that was also ripping me and others off as it later turned out over pictures that I took of Sienna Miller and Orlando Bloom that set off a whole chain reaction of events.
“Please remain. You furnish the pictures, and I’ll furnish the war.” William Randolph Hearst
He worked for a competitor agency working in conjunction with a newspaper that should have known better or maybe not as their deluded protagonist was a insular, wannbe Conservative MP and landowner. This low life paparazzi fled the country(with the taxman in hot pursuit…as he hadn’t paid tax for 20 years), the agency went bankrupt and all their directors and associates that issued witness statements against us and the newspaper lost yet another expensive lawsuit against us prior to chapter 11 chapter bankruptcy proceedings brought about by price wars, mismanagement and ripping off their suppliers.

This tragi comic story is being developed for film with a beautiful psychopathic female playing the lead role….it would have given quasimodo a bad name if we were being true to life! In the original story I felt sorry for this name changing cameleon due to his superficial hopelessness but he totally abuses compassion and was a con artist who used journalistic integrity to find and blackmail victims before he was exposed and finished in the media industry…check out the fantasists comments, even trying to convince a trade mag they were doctored!

Unsurprisingly he shared the same Chinese Astrology, the year of the snake, as our esteemed Prime Minister before he lost power and was ousted. Our villian could flourish and pass himself off in what was our politised culture of deceipt masked in the cult of celebrity. After being cautioned and arrested by the police, the “Insane Judge,” that heard the original case, after successful appeal was removed as a judge…demoted, derobed and stripped of judicial powers for hearing verbal proof that there was no contract, as of recording below and ruling in our antagonist’s favour. Dead or on the streets.

“We are the music makers,
And we are the dreamers of dreams,
Wandering by lone sea-breakers,
And sitting by desolate streams;—

Of the world for ever, it seems.”

……..you can never afford to pay the thief to steal the truth from another man’s soul:)
It was interesting to watch the bankrupcy of the agency and newspaper that backed him, as the natural forces of divine consquence, law and order came into play that were a lesson to other newspaper groups that backed him to act more responsibly in its conduct in the future, rather than protending to be moral guardians of public interest when there own houses were not in order. This paper’s own house was definetely not in order with someone on their picture desk having defrauded a previous newspaper group’s paper and shareholders for up to 6 figures, in turn getting exposed and becoming unemployable in the media.
“Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud,
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find me, unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.” Invictus William Ernest Henley

As an affirmation to humility……I experienced the lack of balance between compassion and wisdom and like the dove, I use the wings of wisdom and compassion to soar, learning from my own life experiences and seeing the innate wisdom in understanding my own actions and failures learn from them…and always make intelligent informed decisions that reflect a true understanding of my teachings! As it is, “Only through Beauty’s morning-gate, dost thou penetrate the land of knowledge.” Die Künstler (The Artists):
Or to quote from a fantasy literary description, A Wizard of Earthsea (Earthsea Trilogy, Book One) by Ursula K. LeGuin, of an important part of C.G.Jung’s psychology: get to know (your own) shadow, the dark side. Fight it, struggle with it, find out that you can’t run away from it and ultimately accept it as part of your-self and thus grow and develop with it.
a few quotes: Chapter 5 – “…From that time forth he believed that the wise man is one who never sets himself apart from other living things, whether they have speech or not, and in later years he strove long to learn what can be learned, in silence, from the eyes of animals, the flight of birds, the great slow gestures of trees.”
“…Master Herbal had taught him much of the healer’s lore, and the first lesson and the last of all that lore as this: Heal the wound and cure the illness, but let the dying spirit go.”
Chapter 4 – “…And the truth is that as a man’s real power grows and his knowledge widens, ever the way he can follow grows narrower: until at last he chooses nothing, but does only and wholly what he must do…”
At least we can thank those who wish to destroy for something….the innate desire to look deep within ourselves to understand our relationship with mythological archetypes to relate to, acknowledge, understand and overcome evil.

Aldous Huxley, author of the classic anti-totalitarian novel Brave New World, explained that the most efficient totalitarian system would be one in which the rulers would “control a population of slaves who do not have to be coerced, because they love their servitude.” In Huxley’s model of the total state, the population was controlled through the use of sex, drugs, vapid entertainment, government-generated slogans, and manufactured social fads.

La Revolucion is not a goddess but a whore. She was never pure, never saintly, never perfect. And we run away, find another lover, another cause. Quick, sordid affairs. Lust, but no love. In short, to fight the Matrix one has to leave the hyperreal far behind, to rigorously think oneself outside it, and then find a way to physically destroy it. Baudrillard, something of a pessimist, doesn’t seem to think that this is remotely possible. Whether we take seriously Neo’s closing message that “anything is possible” depends on whether we believe that the map of the hyperreal has entirely eclipsed the territory of contemporary Baudrillard, like the Wachowskis, find the terrorist resistance to the system both noble and hopeless – even silly.
Self Portrait(1999) “Mindful pleasures”
“Every man has reminiscences which he would not tell to everyone but only his friends. He has other matters in his mind which he would not reveal even to his friends, but only to himself, and that in secret. But there are other things which a man is afraid to tell even to himself, and every decent man has a number of such things stored away in his mind.” Fyodor Dostoyevsky
This is why, in the original screenplay conclusion to the film, we see Neo flying away like Superman as a disbelieving child asks his mother whether people can really fly. Attempts to transcend the hyperreal are puerile, a fantasy for children, worthy of comic book characters. At the same time the possibility of such a transcendence inspires us with awe and a renewed hope for the existence of something solid behind the images.
“As far as we can discern, the sole purpose of human existence is to kindle a light of meaning in the darkness of mere being.” – Carl Gustav Jung, Memories, Dreams, Reflection
Significantly, Neo can be seen as a simulacrum of Jesus Christ and Superman – nothing about him is original or true. If there were still a reality left to represent, he would have to be described as a fake, a phoney, and a false prophet. From the point of view of Baudrillard’s bleak nihilism, the true prophet would be Cypher, who bears the “secret message” of the film: “You see, the truth, the real truth is that the war is over. It’s been over for a long time. And guess what? We lost! Did you hear that – we lost the war.” Since there is no reality left to simulate, Neo is not a fake – he is as hyperreal as the hyperreality he opposes.
“The release of atom power has changed everything except our way of thinking… The solution to this problem lies in the heart of mankind. If only I had known, I should have become a watchmaker.” Albert Einstien.
Like Don Quixote who believes that he lives in an earlier era of knights and damsels, of honor and courtly love, Neo is both a freedom fighter and a terrorist, good and evil, noble and ridiculous. But he is not outside the system, he is embraced and engulfed by it because the reality he is fighting for no longer exists – it is a utopia, an ancient legend.

…who can give me the assurance that this God has not arranged that there should be no earth, no heaven, no extended body, no figure, no magnitude, or place, and that nevertheless I should have the perception of all these things, and the persuasion that they do exist other than as I see them? (98)
I shall suppose, therefore, that there is, not a true God, who is the sovereign source of truth, but some evil demon, no less cunning and deceiving than powerful, who has used all his artifice to deceive me. I will suppose that the heavens, the air, the earth, colors, shapes, sounds and all external things that we see, are only illusions and deceptions which he uses to take me in. (100) Descartes

“I can’t be bargained with. I can’t be reasoned with. I don’t feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And I absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead.”
Unlike Descartes, Neo had to return to the dreamworld of the evil demons, first to visit the Oracle, a Delphic-like priestess whose pronouncements are no clearer than the original conundrums of the Pythian Prophetess; later to save his mentor Morpheus, who has been caught by the Matrix’s virtual Gestapo; and lastly, after his second rebirth, as a sort of Bodhisattva to the unenlightened.
This is the why Neo’s victory over the Matrix, if there is such a victory, could only come about by utterly destroying it as a physical system – by annihilating the technological structure supporting the hyperreality of the Matrix.
Being an advocate of free will……Neo can only respond “That is the sound of inevitability… It is the sound of your death.” From the closing scenes of the Matrix and Smith’s more palatable dire fate.

Nietzsche writes in On the Genealogy of Morals [III:14] of the danger the weak pose for the strong as well as of the danger of ‘great Mitleid’. Nietzsche informs us that ‘the failed, downcast, and broken’ are the ones ‘who most dangerously poison and call into question our confidence in life, in man, in ourselves’. And so he warns us against what he calls ‘the conspiracy of the sufferers’ and against a time when the weakest…. ….might succeed in shoving their own misery, all misery generally into the conscience of the happy: so that they would one day begin to be ashamed of their happiness and perhaps say to each other: ‘it is a disgrace to be happy! there is too much misery!
But how do the weak manage to shove their misery into the conscience of the happy?
They do it by inducing in them ‘great Mitleid’. It begins, according to Nietzsche, with the ‘veiled look’ in the eyes of the wretched which produces in the strong a ‘deep sadness’. Nietzsche eloquently describes that ‘veiled look’ as a dangerous mixture of pain and secret resentment: dangerous, because the resultant ‘deep sadness’ is just the beginning. For Nietzsche predicts that this sadness will eventually grow into guilt and shame until, in the end, the happy begin to doubt their very right to happiness in face of ‘too much misery’. In other words, the misery and wretchedness of the weak has potentially serious consequences for the strong inasmuch as it undermines their hitherto unquestioned confidence in the superior value of themselves and their lives.
Mission statement: The expert witness strives to maintain a balanced worldview that expresses original creative thought and effective business rooted in timelessly proven philosophic principles.
Expert witness examines and provides a view of the society we live in from a philisophic and entertainment perspective.
The lineage and system of philosophic thought that expert witness is based on is my teacher Master Wong’s Yellow Dragon philosophy link to yellowdragon a name that was chosen to honour the meeting between a Taoist monk, Loi Dong Bung, and a Buddhist monk, Yellow Dragon. The meeting led Loi Dong Bung to learn to understand compassion and achieve enlightenment. After this he taught his wisdom and compassion to a great number of people leading to many of them also achieving enlightenment.
Master Simon Wong chose the name Yellow Dragon to honour the open mindedness of Loi Dong Bung. In many fields, not just the Martial Arts, people who are specialists in their profession often have a great deal of arrogance, and will not humble themselves to listen to a different point of view. Loi Dong Bung was remarkable as despite his great knowledge he was open-minded enough to listen and learn.
During that time Loi Dong Bung had already achieved (physical) immortality, and had become quite arrogant. When he met Yellow Dragon, he was showing off about his achievement, trying to prove he was the best, until Yellow Dragon pointed out to him: “Even if you can live forever, what is the difference between you and my iron staff?”
That means the important thing is the “meaning” in life. If you don’t have compassion, there is no life at all. An iron staff can exist forever, but it has no meaning – where is the life?
After that revelation, Loi Dong Bung began to understand that he was wasting his time achieving something unimportant, and then humbled himself to learn from Yellow Dragon. He began using his wisdom and compassion to help other people. That is what made him a legend.
Wisdom and compassion are like the wings of a bird – on one side widsom, on the other side compassion. Without each other, the bird cannot fly.
Expert witness in turn celebrates the meeting of Yellow Dragon principles with mass media and how traditional teaching can and does effect and influence the student to convey this in the mass media, the transformations from all directions and the feedback from this.

“….spend ten years observing bamboos, become a bamboo yourself, then forget everything and paint,”
Taoist artistic style is the splash ink method, which originated from Wang Qia, the Tang Dynasty. The paint is spontaneously and subtly controlled: understood by the Taoist as a hypnotic state that highlights momentary existence and non existence – expressing the sentiment of the Prajnaparamita Heart Sutra that form is emptiness and emptiness is form, thus, depicting man’s relationship and interconnectedness with the cosmos.
We are generally averse to introspection and balancing the pressures of our internal and external enviroment as Eric Hoffer observed “Our greatest pretenses are built up not to hide the evil and the ugly in us, but our emptiness. The hardest thing to hide is something that is not there.” We water the gardens of our spirit constantly trying to de weed the irrational and negative thoughts that can so easily strangle our soul.
